Advanced Design and Optimal Sizing of Hydrostatic Transmission Systems

This paper presents a novel method for designing and sizing high-efficient hydrostatic transmissions (HTs) heavy duty propulsion applications such as agricultural construction machinery. The proposed consists in providing cost effective HT architectures that maximizes efficiency at the most frequent operating conditions of transmission, opposed to traditional design methods based on demanding requirements system. is genetic optimization algorithm calculating optimal displacement main units vehicle. A simulation model HTs built MATLAB/Simulink® environment test three different circuit alternatives basic HTs. Considering particular 250 kW heavy-duty application which drive cycle data were available, this study shows great improvement energy (14%) power saving (20.1%) while still achieving corner condition.
